Care and Repair: Welding and Replating

To understand the "Welding and Replating" process and how your jewelry can regain its full beauty:

1/ Could you please send me photos of your CULOYON jewelry?
This will allow me to verify if replating is feasible. If the rings are not significantly damaged, they can regain almost their original brilliance!

2/ After receiving your jewelry,
To ensure optimal adhesion of the weld, it is essential to clean and polish the surfaces of the pieces to be assembled. Then, I light the torch, adjust the flame size, and carefully observe until the pieces reach the melting temperature. Once the metal becomes red-hot, I apply the solder to the joint. Maintaining a constant heat is crucial to ensure a smooth fusion and avoid imperfections. Even a slight excess of heat can cause the jewelry metal to melt, so this step must be done with extreme care. Mastery of this stage depends on experience.

3/ After welding, brazing
I remove the old coating in several stages, with meticulous sanding and polishing to make the surface clean and shiny. This step is crucial for restoring the original brilliance of your piece and requires high precision and expert craftsmanship. Due to the specific expertise needed, it would be difficult to find another atelier or store capable of performing this work—and even rarer for them to accept it.

4/ Next, your jewelry will be entrusted to a specialized atelier, where skilled artisans will apply a new layer of 22-carat gold plating with a thickness of 3 microns or pure silver plating with a thickness of 10 microns.

5/ Finally, once your jewelry returns to my atelier, I will dedicate myself to the final touches with great care and ensure your piece is prepared for shipment with attention. As soon as everything is ready, I will gladly contact you to inform you about the shipment.
The price includes the labor time, the cost of gold/silver plating, and the round-trip shipping fees to the specialized atelier.

This service is exclusively reserved for CULOYON jewelry, as I am unfamiliar with the materials used by other brands and cannot guarantee the results. Thank you for your understanding.

The estimated timeline for this service is about 6 to 8 weeks after your jewelry arrives at my atelier. As everything is entirely handcrafted, I kindly ask for your patience with this timeline.
