When your jewelry arrives at the atelier, the first step is to carefully remove its existing coating. We use sandpaper, gradually moving from a coarse to a finer grain, to smooth out small scratches.

Polissage et nettoyage

Next, we polish the piece with a silicone bar, followed by a final buffing with a polishing wheel. Ultrasonic cleaning is then performed to remove any impurities.

• This process prevents the new gilding from peeling off too quickly, ensuring greater durability for your jewelry.

• Meticulous polishing preserves the jewelry’s shape and size, requiring the expertise and craftsmanship of an artisan.

Soldering

If soldering is needed, we proceed with great care to avoid damaging the design or metal of the jewelry.

Reapplication of the Gilding

Once the jewelry is ready, it is sent to a master gilder's atelier.
There, it receives a new 22-carat gold coating with a thickness of 3 microns.
Unlike standard flash gilding, this treatment is more resistant and nickel-free, ensuring safe wear.

Final Inspection and Shipping

After gilding, the jewelry returns to our atelier for a quality check.
It is then carefully packaged and sent back to you with our utmost care.

• Timeframe: Approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the jewelry is received at the atelier.
